Definition

A tenant or owner-occupier and their household who live in a home on a long-term basis, together with the dog kept there.

Part of the Roch Dog Residence Standard (RDRS-01) · Published by Roch Dog

A tenant or owner-occupier, and their household, who occupies a home as their dwelling on a long-term basis, together with the dog that lives there.

Where this standard means specifically the person named on a lease, it says tenant. A resident is distinguished from a guest: a guest stays in accommodation, a resident lives in a home.

Roch Interpretation

A resident lives somewhere; a guest stays somewhere. This standard is about homes and the people who make their lives in them.

Examples

Compliant A family renting a flat as their home, with their dog, are residents covered by this standard.
Not compliant A traveller booking a week's stay in a serviced apartment is a guest, not a resident, and falls outside this standard.
