Standard Requirement

A clear dog policy is publicly accessible before a prospective resident commits to the home, stating the terms on which dogs are kept.

RDRS-01 A1 · Pass/fail. Fail this requirement and the outcome is Not Certified.

A clear dog policy is publicly accessible before a prospective resident commits to the home, stating the terms on which dogs are kept.

Informal assurances, verbal agreements, and marketing language are not a policy. A resident who only discovers the rules at the point of moving in has not been properly informed. Pre-commitment transparency is the floor of fair terms.

Roch Interpretation

The policy must be findable before someone signs, not handed over after. A rule kept in a manager's drawer is not a published policy.

Examples

Compliant The dog policy is linked from every listing and included in the tenancy pack before signing.
Not compliant Dogs are 'usually fine' but the actual rules only appear after the resident has paid a deposit.
