Definition
A provider's own claim that a property is built to or aligned with the standard, clearly labelled and evidence-backed, never a certified claim.
Part of the Roch Dog Residence Standard (RDRS-01) · Published by Roch Dog
A claim a provider makes about its own residence.
A provider may self-declare that a property is built to or aligned with the standard, where the claim is clearly labelled as self-declared and supported by evidence such as a published policy.
A provider may not self-declare that a property is certified, or use the certification mark, without a Roch assessment.
Roch Interpretation
A provider can say its property is built to or aligned with the standard, as long as it labels the claim as its own and backs it with evidence. It cannot self-declare as certified or use the mark.
Examples
Compliant
A provider states 'self-declared as built to the Roch Dog Residence Standard' and links its published policy as evidence.
Not compliant
A provider self-declares its property as 'Roch Dog Residence Certified' without any Roch assessment.
