Definition

The evaluation of a residence against the standard's criteria; only a Roch or Roch-licensed assessment can lead to certification.

Part of the Roch Dog Residence Standard (RDRS-01) · Published by Roch Dog

The evaluation of a residence or provider against this standard's criteria. An assessment may be self-, second-, or third-party, but only an assessment carried out by Roch, or by an assessor Roch has licensed, can lead to certification.

Roch Interpretation

Anyone can assess a residence against the criteria, but only an assessment by Roch or a licensed assessor can lead to certification. A self-check is not certification.

Examples

Compliant A Roch-licensed assessor evaluates a building against every requirement before any certification is granted.
Not compliant A provider runs its own internal check and claims that self-assessment amounts to certification.
